Best Browser for Privacy and Security

Since browsing the Internet nowadays has become an everyday need, it has become more complex and more aggressive. Since your browser knows a lot about you like which site you visit a lot, what do you surf etc. We do most of our work through the Internet like paying our bills , shopping, banking and booking tickets etc. Since most of our work on the Internet involve money we need to be very careful about the security and privacy.

Now the Internet is flooded with Malware and other viruses which can effect your online life. So it necessary to take proper steps to secure ourself Online and to do that we have to choose a proper browser which helps us to get online.

Why do we need privacy-conscious browser?

We need privacy-conscious browser because most of the browser keeps the following data while you surf the Internet:
  •  Keep track of the pages you visit, the data you enter into forms, or any  searches you submit.

  •  Keeps temporary Internet files like cookies, browsing history, form data.
  •  Company keeps tracks of you behavior on the Internet and shows you  ads.

Here in this article we will discuss about three such browser which are good for privacy and security.

1. Tor browser

Tor stands The Onion Router and it was initially network of servers developed with the US Navy that helps people to browse the Internet anonymously. Tor network routes the traffic across a series of relays to keep your real identity of the computer as anonymous as possible. The Tor browser is based on Firefox and its an open source project. The browser comes with pre-configure to access the tor network. The communication inside Tor are encrypted but as soon as you leave the network your data are clear unless you have an encryption other than Tor.

There are some drawback of using Tor browser like the speed can be slower as compared to other browser since the traffic have to route through different relays to keep it anonymous. And since its and anonymous network people should take extra care while using it like avoiding downloading file if they are not sure about it, visiting malicious sites in the network which may contain Malware or virus.
At the end we can say Tor is best browser for privacy but security of it depends on the people using it. If the people talks the necessary precautions while using it it can be wonderful.

2.Firefox

Firefox is fast, reliable, open source and respects your privacy. Firefox is an open source project of Morzilla and it can be probably one of the best choice when it comes to privacy. Even though firefox do show some behavior based advertisement but it still far better then other browser in keeping your privacy intact. Firefox do need some tweaks to avoid privacy invading tricks use by ad-trackers. It offers do-not-track option in its setting. Firefox does not enable the do-not-track feature. It can be turn on by clicking the check box labeled “Request that sites not track you.” when this option is enable firebox send request to all the site you re visiting not to track you. There are other options too like tracking protection in private browing in firefox. And there are other addon which I will post in other article which will help to increase the privacy in your browser. Unlike Tor there is no downside like slow speed so it is most used browser for privacy concerned users.
